Welcome to the TalonRO Christmas Event 2008!

On top of that, if you find ANY bugs or exploits, report them to the GM's immediately. Everything is logged, so if we catch you abusing anything, it will result in a permanent ban.

Once again there are several things to be done at this event and we hope that it will be fun and fair to each and every player on the server.

This year's event will be based in Lutie. All NPC's can be found in this map, so be sure to check it out. Let's go through the activities.





Main Event

This event will be a little more community/party based. There are two event maps again, similar to Halloween. One is for the players out there with better gears and higher levels, while the other one is for the newer players. The map for the newer players only allows Non Transcendent characters and disallows any SQI usage. As for the high level map, it has higher droprates of the Colored Giftbox Pieces.

What are Giftbox Pieces you might wonder? Well, they are the ones that you need to collect in order to get a Christmas Gift Box, which gives you a reward.

There are 4 different mobs on each map, suited for several battle types. There's one for Melee, Ranged, Magic and Holy. Each of these mobs will be hard/impossible to kill by any of the other battle types. Let's say you are a Sniper. That means you will have to mostly focus on the mob that is designed for Ranged combat, while it is nearly impossible or very hard to kill the other mobs. Each of these mobs drops a different color Giftbox Piece. There's Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. Collect one of each four colors to exchange it for a gift at Santa Claus. This also means that you will have to party up with other classes in order to collect each color. You can also choose to trade pieces with other players to get all colors.

How to find out what mob to kill? That's all up to you. Try it out and see what mob is easiest to kill for your class. Do note: the mob stats, skills and drops might be balanced throughout the event if we think it's necessary.

Once you have one of each colors, head over to Santa Claus (a bit south from the spawn in Lutie) and exchange them for a gift box. These have a lot of nice headgears. Existing ones, but also new ones that haven't been seen ingame yet. Furthermore, if you're really lucky, you might just get a Pussy Cat Bell or a Celebration Ring out of these!

Furthermore, there will be a custom MVP in the high level map called Antonia. Beat her and get some good EXP and drops!

Letter Writing and Present Packing

Always wanted to show someone what they mean to you? Now's your chance! Find Lizzie and Santa's Helper in Lutie for this.

Lizzie can let you write letters to people ingame for only 50,000 zeny. Tell her who you want to write it to and what you want to write (up to 5 lines), then wait for a GM to verify the letter. Once a GM verified it, it will be announced server-wide! Obviously, do not post any trashtalking or vulgarities in this, as we will not verify it.

Next there is Santa's Helper, who can let you pack up to 4 items (excluding Armors, Weapons and Eggs) into a nice gift, free of charge! It's a nice thing to give to your friends and surprise them!

Bad Santa Invasion

Every 6 hours, Bad Santa will invade a random town in the tRO world. Antonia will be roaming this town, as well as several other strong monsters! Once you have beaten her, there will be random rewards dropped all over the map. However, porings have eaten them so it's up to you to kill the right ones and perhaps get a reward!

Gathering Quests

There are two new quests available in Lutie. Talk to Noble Cain and Velinieous to find out the details. A custom Ramen Hat with some nice stats, sounds good? Anyway, just talk to them and find out what they have to offer~

Wank'd?

This is probably the most mysterious part of the event. Get a group of 3 players and enter the chat (a bit south of the Lutie spawn). Your experiences in this map will be...let's say...very unexpected! It won't be easy, but the rewards are certainly worth it.
