I would just like to say few things:
1. The competition was setup so top 3 rankers will get the same prize, and this fact was clearly stated. THEREFORE, expecting the same prize as last year where players assumed 1st place would get more than 2nd/3rd is illogical. This year's setup obviously leaves room for lot less 'heated' competition, as 1st place could have farmed 2000, while 2nd/3rd could have gotten 100/50 (long as 4th got less) and still won the same prizes. The decision to spend extraordinary amount of time into farming, even knowing this setup was upto each player/team.
2. It was quite difficult to think of a prize that would please both single and party based teams. Unfortunately, everyone has different team sizes, so giving like "name prize" to each of your party members would make it impossible to give that prize. We decided to give 1 instead of just none. For other prizes, we could have given more of things that are lesser value, but what really is there that is decently 'mouth-watering' that can be given in multiples? If you would have preferred 3 valk armors over the 1 diablo robe, i suggest you sell the diablo robe and buy 3 valk armors. I do apologize that in fact lvl3 was party friendly but the prizes werent. However, lot of team competition is unfortunately set this way, and they get 1 prize/trophy. We could have given everyone a custom pet to serve as a "gold medal", but no reasonable way to track who was really part of your party, how long they helped, and etc. If you have suggestions on how rewards could be done in such a situation, please send me a PM.
3. I think the rewards for the honeycomb was lot more 'rewarding' because it was more about tactics than about how much time spent. Time spent is a good competitive factor, but because it has a linear relationship with a player's expectation of how good a prize may be, it is bit troublesome. If we have another 'farming' competition, I will be sure to suggest a much shorter time (2-3 days vs a week+).
Either way, thanks for everyone's participation and your comments! It helps us improve each coming event, long as its constructive and not pure flame! Thanks!
