Important new rule

I'd like to have everyone's attention for a while to read up on this important new rule (not on the homepage yet, but will be soon).

Although we welcome any nationality and thus a wide variety of languages, it becomes very difficult for players to follow !main chat when a large quantity of lines are in languages they do not understand.  As such, please try to keep the primary language in !main to English.  Extended conversations or excessive lines in another language can be treated as !main spam on a case-by-case, player-reported basis.

So long story short: !main chat will now be English only. A few small lines in a different language are okay, but no more entire conversations.

It might sound a bit harsh, but we are an international server after all where English is the main language. When a new player joins the server and sees !main chat filled with chatter in a language that he/she does not understand, it will give a wrong impression to that person. Plus the matter of moderation on our side. If we cannot read what's been said in !main, we cannot moderate properly either.

What? You can always listen, just don't run entire conversations in a different language over it. There is a PM option ya know.

Is there any freedom of speech? Unless the other language is used to annoy, it should still be ok to use it. If you have questions on what I said in the other language ask...What will players that mostly speak their own language do?

Were you not paying attention at all? It says you can ask questions and such but no prolonged conversations.

Well i know 12-15 ppl who are playing here and doesnt speak, talk or read english.


This is a good way to kick them out. But mainly in an international server,

ppl cant speak or write or whatever in his own language? Then this is not international server.

Freedom of speech? well not here, it seems. World dont annoy english speaking

This is only about !main chat. Chat that everyone in the server gets to see. You can always use public chat, PMs, partychat, guildchat, etc.
The point of this rule is to stop long conversations in different languages in server-wide chat, not to ban any other language everywhere.
