I have played in many international servers and in those servers, English is the main language. This rule has taken in those servers that far, that you can't write anything puplic in other language than in English, not in towns or anything, you can only pm or use party chat in other languages. My mother tongue is far from English but i don't mind having !main "English only" thingie. I love all languages, but it is just fair to talk in !main language that everyone can understand or almost everyone. Nothing unfair in that and it is nothing personal or insulting, i think.  ^_^

Why are people whining this time? Are you guys just looking for a reason to whine? It's just !main. If you have a question and you don't know how to say it in English, just type it in your language. They just don't want long discussions in non-English languages, which is only logical. If you want to talk in your own language, just pm or go in the same party or whatever. This won't change anything really. So stop whining and do as you're told...

Also; Dee lives in the Netherlands, so his main language is Dutch.

I hope everyone can understand the existence of main chat.

It is a communication channel to faciliate a conversation or comment to the entire server. Now, when people extensively use different languages in main chat, the point of main chat becomes moot. In addition, because main chat is technically a "server-wide announcement," it is moderated heavily. If you begin to spam or speak inappropriately in english, you are very likely to be reported and/or punished. On the other hand, saying the same things or even worse in another language in main chat will get you no moderation. This is indeed a problem that needed to be fixed.

Please note that enforcement of this rule will rely heavily on player's reports. I doubt anyone will report someone for asking "where is the job changer?" in another language. On the other hand, if you are cussing and flaming another player in another language, then maybe you will be reported. If you are still unhappy with this rule, I would like to remind you that the rule only applies to main chat, and point of main chat is a servide-wide-communication-channel.

Could someone explain to me the huge bad thing about this rule? We are not telling you to not speak any other language than English, we are simply saying that you should avoid having prolonged conversations using any other language than English in the main chat.  Main is a server wide chat, most people on the server see it. I can pretty much guarantee that at any given moment there are more people on who talk English than those who talk Spanish/Portuguese/Tagalog/or any other language. Now if we have few people completely taking over main by talking something other than English it won't be easy for the English talking population then to start conversing in main again or use it for anything else.

Again this rule is only about !main and only about prolonged conversations. You can still talk by using any other language as much as you want to, just avoid doing it on !main.

You are allowed to speak your own language anywhere and everywhere. Just keep it to a minimum in !main. If Spanish was the world language then it would be Spanish only in !main but it just isn't.

Sure, it's not YOUR problem that people can't understand your language in !main but WE, the GM team, cannot censor what we cannot understand. I have had several occasions where players have come to me reporting that someone else is spouting vulgarities in !main in a language that I cannot understand. There was nothing I could do about it except ask them to take the conversation off of !main.

You are allowed to speak your own language in !main. Just try to avoid carrying on lengthy, extended conversations in it. It's a server-wide chat so everyone has to see it if they have !main on.

If people make racist comments that offend you, report it. Simple. Racism will not be tolerated. Period. We cannot moderate what we can't understand and what we can't see. Take screenshots. Make a support ticket. You should already know the protocol.

GM Ires put it pretty well.

AGAIN. This rule is limited to !main chat ONLY.

If you really think it's racism, that's your choice, can't help it if you actually think that.
Just because Spanish might be spoken in more countries doesn't matter. The site you are showing proves that as well. Spanish might be used more as a first language, but as a first+second language, English is just most used. I can easily say that 95% of the server at least understands and in most cases speaks English, while you cannot say that of other languages. English is the world language, so that's what we are using.

so what do u referr as prolongued conversation, cause Cat and i got MUTED!!!!  and  i typed like 4 lines in spanish, and 2 times LOL (english) and a couple of  rofl (english as far as i understand).

so i guess thats a hell of a big and prolonged conversation.  <_<

Besides, i dont care if theres a long, long, long chat in english, or spanish, tagalog, dutch or whatever language, that doesnt really bugs me, but when i read that some1 speaking my language needs help in !main y reply back in !main and if i have to type several times in spanish for that person to understand me (like a conversation) ill still do it, cause i know theres other people that only talks that language in server that could find what im saying usefull, regardless of being muted  later on

Also, i ussually log to TRO to chat in !main with my friends, not to lvl anymore, not to mvp, not to farm stuff, not to do quests, but to chat on !main in my language.

So i dont like the english restriction.  thats all.......... <_<

imo, you shouldn't be language filtered, imagine this as a real life solution and there's your solution to the issue.
