  1. Yeah it's quite interesting to think how my character will struggle to see the whole world. I guess it means you get to experience fresh areas with brand new characters! I re read the guide I am following (the zenny farming rogue). I think I didn't quite realize that I was building a full on specialist who isn't really designed to do much else. I think I've been spoilt by the likes of guild wars 2 that kinda says no matter how you play it will all work out at max level and you can do everything. That's quite interesting! I'm wondering now if maybe I should make a second theif and try something entirely different, maybe making an assassin that might allow me to do a few more varied things and switch to this one when I need money? 2. Thank you for such a detailed couple of replys! I still find it quite overwhelming but I think I can start to unpick that. I don't really have too much experience with MMOs, really the only one I've played in any detail is Guild Wars 2 and in that game it didn't really seem to matter what class you were as long as you were fighting monsters around your level or below it you could take them on quite readily. I'm wondering if in this game certain classes should stick to certain monsters and you shouldn't expect to be able to take absolutely everything when you are fully levelled. That does sound like it could bring quite an interesting layer of strategy compared to other MMOs but I don't really know what I can take at the moment outside of trial and error. I'm not too worried about getting the bits for the quest. I find that the goats seem to take forever to drop but that's the beauty of being able to ninja in and steal the horns, its those harpy women that seem to destroy me. I think if I keep going for it I will eventually get there. Or I guess I could go back to the myst cases. I have been fighting them for a while now and have around 600 cakes to sell at some point but I'm starting to yearn for a little bit of a change of scenery ^^ I don't know if looking for equipment at the moment is the right thing for me to do but its something that is at the back of my mind. I feel I could still probably get a lot of power from levelling up and if I can keep finding monsters that I can dispatch as easily as the myst cases then I don't think I'll need to consider it too hard until I get to the top level anyway, Perhaps I should just keep attacking the cases though. I really would quite like the card, especially as I've not yet found a card I didn't realise that there was a way to change my build. I thought you had to reset to do that or roll a separate character? I don't know how comfortable I would be changing at this stage. I find the myst cases, albethey repetitive are at least a reliable system for me and I will be able to eventually fund a different character possibly? I haven't really found a guild or people to play with yet which is what attracted me to this class in the first place but once I do it might be nice to get some advice as to what niche I could fill rather than trying to fit in with something I've made myself. Thanks again for the help x
  3. Hi everyone and thanks for having a look at this post ❤️ I am playing a level 77 rogue but I am still very new to ragnarok and I've found equipment to be a little bit puzzling. It seems that you don't really find it very often at all. In fact I think in all my time playing I've only found a couple of things and outside of the eden quests I've not found any armour anywhere as such I haven't really had much experience with it and I'm not really sure on how one gets more. I've been following the Rogue levelling guide from here: https://wiki.talonro.com/Rogue_-_Leveling_Guide at the end it has budget equipment. I'd quite like to look for it and pick it up myself if I can but I don't really know how to go about doing that If we take the first piece: "Top – Hermose Cap [1]" and I try to use the itemdb it does come up (https://panel.talonro.com/itemdb/5481/) but it doesn't say how you can get it (I see that it has a reward guru cost but I was wondering how you got it without spending TCs). Similar thing happens for the Robo eye as well sadly. I haven't really looked at the others yet but I'd like to get my head around these first 2 first so I know I'm using the databases correctly. Is there a guide you could maybe link me to that explains RO items like I'm five? This seems like quite a different system to other MMOs that seem to hand out items like candy all the time. I am sure there is a system that I just haven't grasped yet. I seem to die quite a lot if I wander around and I don't know if my gear is a large part of the reasoning. It seems I can still kill the myst cases fine but I'm finding gathering the items for the Moscovia Dungeon entrance quest kinda difficult and I have some open equipment slots on my sheet which makes me wonder if I've done something wrong Many thanks x
  4. Ahh very interesting so I'm assuming that it you switch at 40 then you can never get those 10 levels but if they're wasted then it's no real sacrifice as you're not having what seems to be perceived flexibility. Is getting your second class quite a large boost to make getting this early even more tempting? I understand that you get boosted quite a lot when you transcend and everything is reset so do some players have the attitude of just trying to push through the first birth as quickly as is possible because they don't feel they have a "real" character until then and leveling speed is way more important than future flexibility at least at first? Thanks x
  5. Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to look at my questions. ^^ Just for background: my character is a base 62 job 42 thief. It's my first character and I'm still quite new. I made a mistake when completing Boya's third quest as I didn't realize I could only double strike with daggers and I picked the sword. I was just wondering if there's a particular monster that's good to hunt in order to maybe find a replacement? I don't know if I've just been fighting the wrong things but it seems that equipment drops are very rare in this game at least compared to other RPGs. Not that this is a complaint it's just a bit different. Any advice you could give me with regards to equipment hunting would be great! Secondly I was looking at the zeny farming guide on the wiki and I noticed that it has 10 in double strike, 10 in steal, 10 in dodge and 9 in hiding. I thought that when reading that I would stop getting job levels at 40 because that seems to be all skill points accounted for but I was a little surprised to go up another 2 leveling this evening. I was wondering if the author decided they were going to change to a rogue at the very first opportunity and decided to forgo those other levels or if the additional skill points can carry over to the second job or if leveling up your first class sacrifices points from the second class? I hope what I just said made sense as I know it's kind of a meta topic but just in case I've not put any additional points in. Many thanks again and take care xxx
