The Great New Years Cook Off!

In order to celebrate 2014 coming in, we're planning a party and dinner! But we want you guys to help us out, we need recipes so we know what to make~ In order to get them, we're holding a cook off! The contest is simple; you need to come up with a recipe that you want to eat on New Years eve! Buuuuuuuut it also has to be a recipe that you feel is RO related. How you make it related to the game is up to you!

Now, some ground rules:

  • You MUST have a full recipe (ingredients and instructions)

  • You MUST include a name for your creation
  • You MUST include a photo of the finished product, WITH your Character Name included in it
  • Also include your Characters Name in the typed portion of the entry
  • You are allowed to use cocktail recipes, but if you do you need to include a non-alcoholic version
  • The link to RO needs to be clear
  • You are allowed to use recipes you've found on the net as your base, make sure to find a way to connect them to RO~
  • You can use either C or F for temperature, but include a conversion! (Google will tell you~)
  • Measurements can be listed however you please, and we'll have a converter here!
  • You can enter with a drink+plate of food/side if you wish, BUT it will still only count as ONE entry and you'll only have ONE chance to win

Angeling Meringue!

IGN: GM Cherri

Ingredients:

2 Egg Whites

1/2 Cup Caster Sugar

Pinch of Salt

Cooking chocolate (to decorate~)

Pink food colouring (liquid NOT gel)

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 110C (230F)

2. Using an electric mixer beat egg whites, salt and a drop of food colouring until they're just forming soft peaks (you'll see it when you lift the beater).

3. Add sugar slowly, mixing as you go until it becomes smooth, the sugar has dissolved and it forms hard peaks. (A good way to know it's done is to rub a little between your fingers, if you can't feel the sugar it's goooooood)

4. Using either a spoon or a piping bag, form small blobs on baking trays lined with baking paper and place in the over.

5. Turn the oven down to 90C (194F) and bake for 90 minutes! (Or until the meringues sound hollow when you tap them)

6. Place cooking chocolate in a zip lock bag, and place in the microwave, checking every 10 seconds until it's melted.

7. Cut the very tip of the bag off and use it to pipe the chocolate onto baking paper to form wings. (You can draw the wings on the other side of the paper)

8. Place the paper with the chocolate into the fridge and let it set.

9. Turn the oven off and let them cool in the oven with the door open a little.

10. Once the meringues have cooled, reheat the chocolate and pipe poring faces onto them.

11. Pipe more chocolate to the spot where you want to attach wings and use it as the glue to hold them in place.

You'll end up with....

As you can see, I'd be disqualified, but this is still an example of what we'd like to see :D

Now you're thinking "But what do we get from this?" simple! At the end of the contest all entrants will receive a "Food Box Vol. 10" and and Petite Chef Hat!

On top of this, we'll hold a poll so the whole server can decide who the top chefs of the server are! And the top 3 will get....

Poring Guchai

IGN: Chainheart

Ingredients:

> For the Chinese Chives flavor & sauce

Chinese Chives 200 grams

Soda carbonate 1/4 teaspoon

Dark soy sauce 1 tablespoon

Light soy sauce 2 tablespoon

Sugar 2 tablespoon

Vegetable oil 1 tablespoon

Chopped garlic 1 tablespoon

1-2 of grinded pepper

Vinegar 1 tablespoon

>For dough

1 cup of Rice flour

1/4 cup of tapioca starch

1/4 cup of glutinous flour

1 cup of water

2 Tbsp. of oil

Steps:

1. > For dough

1.1. Put the 3 kind of flour into the boil water 100 C (212 F).

1.2. Stir them until well combined then leave them until they turn to warm.

1.3. Knead them until the well combined (use tapioca starch to knead) after that use the wet cloth cover them (do not lets them dry out).

1.4. Preheat the oven to 110C (230F)

2.1. Put the oil after that put the chopped garlic and fried them until they turn to yellow.

2.2. After that put Chinese Chives , Soy sauce and a little water

2.3. Mix sweet black soy sauce , light soy sauce , vinegar and sugar together

2.4. Put some water and stir them 100 C (212 F).

2.5. After that put the grinded pepper and let them cool down

3. Mold the dough to be the drop-like figure.

4. Flat them and put the mixture after that wrap the mixture with dough.

5. Steam them 100 C (212 F) and wait until they done.

6. Serve them with the sauce.

And then.. here it serve like this!

Skeggiold's Sweet Panna Cotta

Ingredients :

(for 3-4 small container ea @350ml )

Fresh Milk (500ml)

Cream (500ml)

Sugar (as your taste)

Gelatin ( 2 tbspoon, mix it with 2 tbspoon hot water / more (till simmer) )

How To Make :

1. Pour Fresh Milk and Cream at one pot, put some sugar

2. Heat the Fresh milk and cream mixture on small fire, stir till the sugar melted and blend.

3. Mix the Gelatin with 2 table spoon hot water, and heat it inside hot boiling water

4. After your Gelatin simmered, pour it to milk and cream mixture and stir again till it's blending very well

(don't let your panna cotta mixture boiled, just warm)

5. pour it to small / big container

6. put on refrigerator and chill it for 4++ hrs.

7. put / pour some mashed fruit / chocolate syrup >.< / some chocolate if u want @_@

voila ~

Bomber Steak (Str+3)

IGN:Black-Leg Sanji

Ingredients:

1 Porterhouse steak (Minorous Meat)

1 Egg (Magnolia)

1 Potato Hashbrown

1 Teaspon cooking oil

2 Tablespoon of Butter

Salt

Black Pepper

Onion Chives

Steps:

1.Break egg and slip into pan and immediately reduce heat to low.

1a.Season it with salt

1b.Cook slowly until the white is completely set and the yolk begin to thicken and set aside.

2.Fry hashbrown with oil until golden brown and set aside.

3.Season the steak generously with salt and black pepper.

4.Heat oil and butter until the butter is melted.

5.Place the steak in the pan and let it cook 5 minutes each side until it becomes brown and crusty.

6.Let it cool

7.Serve the steak in a plate together with the egg and hashbrown.

8.Add the onion chives from a top for presentation.

Apple of Archer homemade apple cake!

IGN: Acose

Ingredients

Dry:

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Wet:

1 1/2 cups vegetable oil

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3 eggs

1/4 cup orange juice

Goodies:

3 cups peeled and “finely” chopped red apples

1 cup shredded coconut

1 cup finely chopped pecans

Butter (Only for greasing pan)

Whipped Cream (amount is personal preference)

Directions:

1. First thing you want to do is collect your ingredients and start preparing the apples and pecans. Make sure you peel and de-core your apples!

2. Use a larger knife and cutting board to make it easier on you to “finely” chop your apples.

3. Pro-tip for the pecans. Place them in a zip lock bag and use a dough roller to break them up into fine pieces.

4. Now go ahead and pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees F (177 degrees C).

5. Next grab a large mixing bowl and manually mixing your dry ingredients. I used a sifter to make sure they were evenly distributed but it is not absolutely required. Do your best to mix them with a large spoon!

6. Grab another bowl and mix your wet ingredients. For this step it is best to use an electronic mixer.

7. When your wet ingredients are mixed, start slowly adding your dry ingredients into the same bowl.

8. Once it is a nice blend with the electronic mixer, grab a large spoon and manually mix the goodies: pecans, apples, and coconut!

9. Now grab a rectangular baking dish and grease it up with the butter. Another Pro-Tip use non-stick parchment paper along the bottom of the pan (on top of the butter) to make it easier to get your cake once it is cooked!

10. Pour the batter into the pan.

10. Cook for about 1 1/2 hours, you will be able to tell when your tester comes out clean.

11. Pull it out and let it cool for about 20 mins or else the whipped cream will just melt off!

12. While you are letting it cool, prepare the whipped cream topping with the various food coloring. Red, green, and brown!

13. Use a circular plate to use your knife and cut the cake into the apple shape. Use your corners to create the arrow. 14. Then just decorate to your style. Apple of Archer Cake!

Ingredients:

200g dark chocolate

185g unsalted butter

40g unsweetened cocoa powder (optional; I used more chocolate in replacement)

85g flour

3 eggs

225g sugar

Whipped cream

Chocolate syrup

2 strawberries (or any fruits or decorations)

Instructions:

1. Break dark chocolate into small even pieces and add butter. Fully melt chocolate using double boiler method (or microwave method).

2. Preheat oven to 160C or 325F.

3. Mix flour and cocoa powder. Skip this step if you use chocolate instead of cocoa powder.

4. Beat eggs and mix with sugar for around 5 to 8 minutes.

5. Add melted chocolate into eggs and sugar. Mix them gently.

6. Add mixed flour and cocoa powder (if you used it). Also mix them gently.

7. Pour mixture into a baking pan (heart shaped in this case) and place it in the oven for 30 to 45 minutes until fully cooked.

8. Wait around one hour or until it is cooled.

9. Start decorating with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and strawberries (I used red mint chocolate in this case).

10. TADA!

Fried Stapoballs with Magnolia Side-Up and Cursed Water Cocktail

IGN: Harp

Fried Stapoballs

Ingridients:

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 egg

2 Tbsp. water

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1/4 cup minced onion

1/2 tsp. salt

1/8 tsp. pepper

Corn Oil

Preparation:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2) In large bowl combine egg, water, bread crumbs, onion, salt and pepper and combine.

3)Add ground beef, broken into chunks, and mush with your hands to combine.

4)Form into meatballs about 4cm long in diameter and place on a broiler pan.

5)Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until meatballs are no longer pink in center.

6)Cool and freeze.

7)Heat up the corn oil on a frying pan.

8)Fry the meatballs for several minutes and keep turning them around until their skins goes dark.

Magnolia Side-up

Ingridients:

1 egg

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. white pepper

Corn oil

Preparation:

1)Heat the corn oil on a frying pan

2)Crack and open the egg on top of the frying pan once the oil is hot.

3)Turn down the heat immediately and let the egg white cook thoroughly from the bottom

Note:Do not turn the egg around, you need to keep its yolk still undercooked on top to have the bright yellow color.

4)Take a pinch of salt and pepper and sprinkle them over the egg.

Cursed Water Cocktail

Ingridients:

500ml grape juice

150ml lemon juice

100ml vodka

200ml soda water

Preparation:

1)Mix grape juice with lemon juice and stir

2)Add soda water and vodka into the mixture

3)Put the drink in a big beaker and enjoy!

Notes:Serve it when cold

Deviling glazed chocolate cake

Quantity: For 6 persons

Preparation: 25 minutes

Cooking: 40 minutes

Ingredients

6 eggs

140g softened butter

150g unrefined sugar

140g black chocolate

120g white flour

For chocolate glaze

100g black chocolate

10cl fresh cream

Preparation

1) Preheat oven to 150oC (302oF)

2) Separate the yolks from the egg whites.

3) Break chocolate into pieces and place into bowl with 40g of butter. Put bowl into microwave for 1 minute at 1000 Watts. Stir mixture until smooth and let cool.

4) Mix in the melted chocolate, the rest of butter and remaining sugar until the mixture is smooth.

5) Whisk the egg whites with 1 tablespoon sugar until they form peaks.

6)  Add the yolks, then the flour into the mixture and whip it. Add 2 large spoonfuls of egg whites and stir vigorously to soften the batter. Stir in remaining egg whites lifting the batter with a spatula. This step is quite delicate because if you don't stir correctly the cake won't be spongy.

7) Pour the batter into a buttered and floured baking pan and bake in the oven for 40 minutes. When it's done, unmold the cake and let cool.

The chocolate glaze part

1) Break chocolate into pieces and place into bowl with fresh cream. Put bowl into microwave for 1 minute at 1000 Watts. Stir mixture until smooth

2) Pour the warm glaze over the cold cake and drizzle it with a spatula over cake. Let it cool and harden.

3) Freestyle decoration with whipped cream, cardboard and liquid chocolate.

There we have our little cute MVP <3 (ohh right why it’s not violet  ???)

P/s: My recipe is french and I tried to translate it into english. So if there is any point, word using or measurements, that u don't get, be free to ask (better than ruin ur cake later ;))
