why remake in live action? what's the actual point?
@GewenG They sure look real. All is the same. Twenty-five years later, this new "Lion King" follows the contours of the 1994 version.
A film with quite a lot to say below its surface. This time with photorealistic animation. The result is a glimpse of the digital future.
And so, again, we have Simba: hero, taunted by hyenas, expelled of Pride Rock and "Scar" the perverse villain. Strikingly realistic.
not really, you can't really compare this with the animated one, one big thing missing is the emotion which is the big part of the charm.
also since the animated one exist, it will constantly be compared to and i'm pretty sure it will always be in the favour of the animated one
@GewenG Over the past few years, Disney has built up a roster of live-action remakes of their animated classics, but The Lion King is more lifelike than Disney many live-action remakes. However, is a cautious remake from its lifelike visuals.
Any remake relies on retelling a tale, using the benefits of realism. For some, welcome, and for others, not! The critics who see it as soulless, need a dose of hakuna matata!
The Lion King was made to be seen, the story you already know, but in a different way.
Simba was already cute in 1994, in 2019, he looks real.
It's still a good story, as sweetly engaging.
different strokes for different folks
